A comforting and flavorful dish, perfect for a weeknight meal!
Ingredients:
1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 (15 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Cook the Chicken:
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chicken pieces and season with salt and pepper. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
Sauté the Vegetables:
In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.
Make the Sauce:
Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, heavy cream, grated Parmesan cheese, oregano, basil, and red pepper flakes (if using). Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Combine:
Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and stir to coat it in the creamy sauce. Let it simmer for another 2-3 minutes until heated through.
Serve:
Serve the Creamy Tuscan Chicken over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread to soak up the delicious sauce. Enjoy!
